<description>This is VERY inspirational and the kind of story that gives a lot of folks something to shoot for, and naturally I am pleased to see you going the barefoot/minimalist footwear route. Keep it up.

<description>This is amazing. Good work Tim. To go from having to walk with a cane to running a 5k is very inspirational. I know exactly how you must feel though and I remember that feeling myself.
I had some pretty severe asthma as a kid, and even up through junior high I could never complete more than 1/2 mile of running without having an asthma attack. To make matters worse, for some reason that is beyond stupidity, I started smoking and continued this habit from 8th grade to 19 years old, when I quit. September, 2007 I ran my first mile, and by October, completed a similar couch to 5k program.
I remember feeling so proud of myself. I felt invincible. I was hunched over and ready to vomit, but I was so happy to have done something I never thought I could do. There was this feeling of a door being opened to another world of possibilities that made the accomplishment so great.
I hope that you continue to post your progress with your running and barefooting, and wish you luck with your future endeavors. Also, I love the Random PHP page!
